The co-founder of an Information Technology firm, M-power payment system, Mr. Rower has appealed for the implementation of electronic mode of payments for commercial transportation during the Joy Technology Summit on 21st October 2015.
Mr. Rower speaking at the summit held at Kofi Annan ICT center made the appeal as a preventive measure to help reduce armed robbery in the country.
The co-founder also expounded that the electronic payment system will help the government save money and boost the economy.
He noted that in 2011 Ghana spent about $30 million to print the fifty cedi notes.
Commercial drivers in Nairobi, Kenya have implemented the electronic mode of payment and are witnessing an increase in revenue, Mr. Rower concluded.
